Introducing AGEnts of Movement Classes
This Older Americans Month felt like the perfect time to pilot something I’ve been thinking about for a long time, collaborating with colleagues to create physical activity opportunities that help older adults stay active and connected.
I’ve started a pilot launch of AGEnts of Movement (AOM) classes.
Over the next three months, classes will be offered online and in-person classes designed to support healthy aging through movement and community. These are not traditional fitness classes. They are classes created to help people move more, feel better in their bodies, build confidence, and stay engaged in life.
I’ve seen how powerful group classes can be. They can help people reconnect with themselves, discover new capabilities, build friendships, and regain confidence after setbacks or life transitions.
The AOM class pilot is an opportunity to explore what’s possible when we offer a variety of ways to stay active and create spaces that prioritize connection just as much as physical activity.
For this first month of the pilot, classes being offered include:
Strength Training for the Pelvic Floor with Patricia Linderman
Footloose: How to Mobilize and Strengthen Your Feet, which I’ll be teaching
Move Freely, a weekly movement session led every Monday by Cheryl Whitelaw
How to Fall Safely classes that I’ll be offering locally in the Colorado Springs area to help people build fall resiliency, confidence, and the skills to safely navigate getting to and from the ground.
Additional classes offered throughout the pilot will focus mobility, balance, play, and movement exploration for all ability levels.
Some offerings will be free while others will have a fee to compensate coaches and help support the growth and sustainability of the community.
You can check out the class schedule HERE.
I’ll be listening closely to participants and coaches, exploring what resonates most, and continuing to shape AOM based on the needs and interests of the community.
If you’re interested in joining a class, leading a class, collaborating, or learning more about the pilot, I’d love to hear from you. Email me at erin@agentsofmovement.com

New AGEnts of Movement Podcast Episode
A new episode was released on Saturday featuring a shared conversation I had on the Modern Management of the Older Adult (MMOA) podcast with Dustin Jones. I talk about my experience working with SilverSneakers, how it shaped my perspective on older adult fitness and why we need to create better, more human-centered exercise experiences for older adults.
Playful Nature Podcast with Laurel Beversdorf
The episode explored how fear is often used in the fitness industry and how certain coaching approaches can unintentionally limit people’s agency and relationship with movement. I also appreciated Laurel’s insights on barriers women face with resistance training.
A Slight Change of Plans podcast “The Life-Changing Impact of Showing People They Matter”
This episode was a reminder that helping people feel like they matter can have a profound impact on social health and emotional well-being. It made me reflect on how important it is that the people we serve feel seen, valued, and connected within our movement spaces and communities.
